When you initially come to my office, you will be welcomed and greeted with a warm friendly smile from our chiropractic assistant. Keep in mind the first visit is designed to figure out if we can help you, or if we need to refer you out to someone else that may better fit your needs.
The first visit is designed to gather information about you and your health. I prefer to see the x-rays before we adjust to ensure that we make the appropriate adjustments to correct the problem, and to help rule out any contraindications to care.
On the second visit you will receive an adjustment. But before that I will personally go over the results of the exam with you, and we will go through your x-ray results together. From all the information gathered I will present you with a treatment plan to help get you well.
Because I adjust using my hands and not an instrument you may hear a popping sound. This sound is a normal response and effect of the adjustment. The popping sound is not cracking or breaking bones, it is simply gas being released from the joint.
Once your plan has been developed, and we know what areas need to be adjusted, the following treatments will take between 5-15min depending on what needs to be treated. During these visits we will discuss your progress, assess your spine and then adjust you.
Remember healing takes time, and not all healing can be accomplished with one visit. Most of the time the problem has been there for a period of time. It most likely will take consecutive treatments to allow your body to heal.
